Inshore and Backwater Fishing in Naples Florida offers up some of the most scenic and diverse fishing you can hope for. Like all fisheries, everything changes with the seasons, but with our relatively consistent weather you can expect good action year-round. Southwest Florida boasts some of the best backdrops for fishing as well. The "Big City Backwater" of Naples and Marco Island, as well as the 10,000 Islands, are fishing destinations that every angler should have on their bucket list. On these trips we typically target snook. Snook are unique to to South Florida in that you don't find them anywhere else in the United States. Seasonally, We also target redfish, trout, tarpon, sheepshead, snapper, grouper, and even sharks!
Nearshore Fishing in the Naples area is truly an experience unique to Southwest Florida. Being on the Gulf, as opposed to the Atlantic with more mercurial weather, gives us the opportunity to get offshore in smaller boats more frequently. You can take a ride out into the Gulf for Grouper, Mackerel, and Snapper in the same day that you target Reds and Snook in the back bays. This is a better option if you are looking to bring some dinner home. If keeping some fish for dinner is a goal, make sure I am aware of that as we plan out trip; many of our gamefish have seasonal closures throughout the year. Catch and release is always permitted.
Night Fishing in Naples is a great way to get out and catch some fish without having to spend all day in the sun. Most of the species that we catch in the daytime are more than willing to participate at night as well. The numerous dock lights in town allow us to get out and get on the fish quickly. These trips are an excellent option if you are looking to Fly fish and get a lot of shots at fish.
